Our neighbor Kevin did the shop ride about a month ago and within a few miles he was hooked on mountain biking in Topanga. Here is Kevin with his new Surly Karate Monkey.
Allen rented a bike last weekend and had some fun. He had so much fun that he stopped in this weekend to buy a Timberjack. So good and so fun. And, he made us feel really good. Thanks brother. We try to make it that people have fun and think we did.
Josh picked up his Surly Ogre for bikepacking among other things. Rover approved.
We had such an amazing day. Johnny Irion and Tim Bluhm visited as the release their latest album collaboration and we had the pleasure of their music at the Outpost. Our building has been in the music world for a long time. Our neighbor was Mama Cass from the Mama and Papa’s and one of the guys from Canned Heat. Our building was used to play music and jam. Over the years we have heard the Eagles, Doors and a whole slew of musicians have been creative inside Topanga Creek Outpost. Johnny is the great nephew of John Steinbeck who used Blackwing Pencils. We carry Blackwing and when they visited a while back we planned something like this jam session with Johnny and Tim. It was a joy today and we are excited.
John had been chatting Kris Gross of Rocky Mountain a while back and today picked up his new Rocky Mountain Solo.
Kieth is with his new Surly Long Haul Trucker. The LHT is one of our favorite bikes for its ability to have fun and be utilitarian.
