Pam’s Ti Jones.

Pam has been planning her Ti Jones for about 5 months. Today was the day she made it to Topanga to pick up her new bike. Mind you, she lives in Australia. (The country next to New Zealand). Look for her virtually everywhere in California for the next couple months as she accomplishes an extraordinary journey. UnPredict Your Journey.

We are humbled. There are 3.3 million small businesses in California and the California State Senate chooses about 80 as businesses of the year. This year, Topanga Creek Bicycles is Small Business of the Year selected by Senator Pavley. We share this honor with everyone who has been part of UnPredicting their Journeys with us, our Saturday rides, events, BBQ’s, races, and all of the good energy shared among each other. State Senator Fran Pavley chose us as the area’s small business of the Year.

Please join us with the Senator on June 6 after the Saturday ride to have a local ceremony before we head to the State Capital on June 9th and 10th for the state ceremony.

Thanks for being part of something with us. UnPredict Your Journey.

We had so much fun with the guys from Kitsbow playing Corn Hole that we built the game for the shop. Or rather, anyone near us in the past 24 hours helped build one for the shop. We played it all evening. Super fun for tonight’s BBQ. Special thanks to Jossue, Mr. Gil, Wesley, Mike (who bought a bike today and stayed to figure out the sewing machine and actually make the bags and have fun), Erica, and everyone else who helped and then played this fun game….Get ready everyone else, it ain’t going away any time soon. So fun.

UnPredict Your Wednesday – An Amazing 24 Hours this week.

After the shop closed on Tuesday, we headed to Mount Wilson with two of our soon-to-be-great-new-friends from Kitsbow and Charlie, who wanted to give bikepacking a try.   The 5 of us loaded our bikes with gear after a quick trip to Sprouts for last minute essentials (food).

The extraordinary ride up to the tunnel and down the camping area of the Mount Lowe train depot was spectacular.    Pitch dark, except for our lights, a little moon and stars, we rode.    The camp was empty (often is empty on a weekend), and we relaxed.    Cooked some food, played a fun campfire game and got to know new people.

Everyone slept really well and the morning brought us on a bike ride back up the trail through amazing flora and vistas.     We stopped for lots of photos.    The guys from Kitsbow set up a sandbag game at the end of our ride to the trucks and we played sandbags with coffee before we took off in different directions.

Chris and Jay headed for another ride further in the forest at Chilao and were flabergasted tthat the only other vehicle was Jossue’s.  A few minutes into the ride and we found Cecelio and Jossue riding.    They steered us to do the loop counter clockwise which was absolutely the right decision.

Chris and Jay rode for the afternoon in perhaps one of the most extraordinary areas yet found.

UnPredict Your Wednesday at it’s finest.
