Rain cancelled the Saturday ride. Bitter sweet and wet.
Micheal braved the rain to get a bike to potentially ride in the rain and anywhere else his adventures might take him. The Surly Long Haul Trucker for commuting, travel and fun.
Great things afoot……apedal…..
Robert with his Salsa Spearfish…..
Robert wanted a great bike to ride the trails. The Salsa Spearfish is perfect.
UnPredicted our Wednesday with Amtrak and bikes…..
After the shop closed on Tuesday, we rode our bikes to Chatsworth and jumped on the Amtrak train headed north. We got off the train at Santa Barbara and rode down to Carpenteria. Nick was waiting for us with local beer and after we set up camp we chilled for a while with Nick. In the morning we stopped at a terrific coffeehouse in Carpenteria and headed south. The new bike path along the PCH South of Santa Barbara was terrific. It surpassed our expectations. Later, we were concerned at the “Road Closed” signs at Point Mugu. Fortunately the CalTrans guy took pity on us and let us through. 7 miles of the PCH to ourselves. It was amazing. A quick bite at Neptune’s Net and the final stretch through Malibu made for a great adventure.
